Three things about myself:
1. control-freak….yikes!
2. I’m reading a book to help deter that flaw (Control Girl by Shannon Popkin)
3. Jesus is my saving grace!!

My best posts:
1. I’m Over You Fear!
2. A Thorn In My Flesh
3. Loving Others Through Dirty Feet

Five questions I was asked:

1.Do you like reading or watching mysteries? I don’t mind a mystery but would rather it be a non-fiction book…if it’s in movie form…wellllll…I typically get my best sleep through any movie so there’s that.

2. Do you know how much God loves you?Absolutely! John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

3. How has the COVID-19 affected you?Honestly it hasn’t really. I do hair once a week at a nursing home and substitute teach so neither of those I can do right now but I more so consider myself a stay at home mom anyways plus I’m a homebody so I haven’t noticed too much, in fact I have to intentionally think of those who are dealing with it on the front lines to have a true compassion about it. Just being real.

4. Have you seen good from God in this pandemic? I’ve learned to slow down, to have more patience, and that not everything needs done in a day.

5. Have you been able to find toilet paper? Yup!

Questions for my nominees:

Why do you write?

How long have you blogged with WordPress?

How often do you post blogs?

Funny ?: What makes you laugh?

Weird ?: Are you a night owl or a morning person?

Please don’t feel pressured or obligated to participate. If you do, send me a link and let me know, would love to read your answers! Stay healthy!

Keeping the Christmas Spirit Going

It seems like once the New Year arrives people have often times moved beyond the Christmas spirit or season and are now fixated on new beginnings, keeping trendy resolutions, and sometimes creating outlandish goals for the upcoming year.

It’s almost as if the New Year pours in and Christmas is drowned out, right?

I’m seriously as guilty as they come with quickly moving on to my New Year resolutions.

In fact, a few weeks ago my husband commented that he wanted to start running to help get in shape. But then nothing came of it. Oddly enough some of our good friends contacted us the other day asking if we’d like to participate in a half marathon happening at the beginning of May. With the idea of motivation to spur us along in our new goal of running this year, we reluctantly committed…so now we’re signed up to compete in this half marathon that we’re absolutely (equally) unprepared for and clueless about.😂 Continue reading “Keeping the Christmas Spirit Going”

Celebrations & Ramblings

Just a little update-post while I have some extra time today!

First the milestones:

  • Warren (my son) started going to public school this year, 4th grade…and he loves it! His teacher is amazing so that’s a huge bonus!
  • The beginning of September, WordPress notified me that For His Purpose blog has been a go for two years now!! When I first decided to start a blog I honestly didn’t think I had much more than two or three deep thoughts to share, so to think that I’ve now written over 80 posts in the past two years with 280 followers, blows my mind.
  • Had an awesome time at women’s weekend with maybe 45 minutes of sleep.
  • Nathan and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary last month…with…insert drumroll please…a trip to Subway! They have gluten-free bread! (Side note: always have it toasted, it helps kill the rubbery texture) Continue reading “Celebrations & Ramblings”
