That last post today, about my gray hair, wasn’t actually supposed to post until tomorrow. I’m not really sure what happened but apparently it sent to all my email address subscribers, but never posted to the actual blog. It’s scheduled for tomorrow so you may end up with a repeat (edited) version…good old technology.
It’s fine and whatever, BUT the format was all messed up as far as font size goes so if you had a chance to read it I hope the wording made sense and that you were able to focus on the content rather than the physical appearance…that being said it’s a sweet reminder and lesson of how we need to focus on the inside rather than outside; focus on the heart rather than the looks.
Love,
Alicia
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

About For His Purpose~
My name is Alicia and I'm a thirty-something year old who loves Jesus.
Only through God’s amazing grace and mercy I have been redeemed from past regret and shame. Reading His word has allowed me to look past Satan’s forceful lies, to see myself for who Christ says I am in Him.
Through writing I have learned why I made the choices I made in my younger years and I now have a better understanding of why I desire to love God like crazy these days.
Despite my daily failures, God remains faithful always. I am reassured of His unconditional love for me by every ink-drop spilled out on paper, each committed prayer as I cry out to Him, and deep understanding reflected through reading His word as truth.
Yes keeping a blog will make me vulnerable to others’ opinions- there will be some who don’t understand, some who may criticize or judge, but on the other hand if just one piece expressed through my writing grabs someone’s attention and directs them to God, then pouring out my heart in a blog for the world to read is worth it. I choose to glorify Him alone through words streaming across a glowing screen.
And it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t reveal the fact that I’m incredibly quirky; I’m my loving husband’s best friend, my vivacious kids’ craziest cheerleader and spiritual trainer (3 John 1:4). I love anything farmhouse and rustic style. I think cupping a warm coffee mug in the palm of my hands is more satisfying than the contents within. I share a common obsession with my husband for the mountains, but I would (without a doubt) settle for waves crashing against my legs at the Atlantic Ocean just as well, and I almost always have a Yorkie curled up on my lap while writing.

Everyone will have an opinion of coloring the gray God gives you, and I guess I will be one of them. My grandmother was white-headed by the time she was in her late 30’s. She colored it brown on a weekly basis. I grew up never knowing she was a frosty one. When she decided to let it go, she was about 75 or so. By that time, I was an adult with kids of my own. It was a shocker!!! However, I thought she looked stunning, royal, and wiser. I have gray temples, but I know it will spread as I grow older and I’m really okay with that. Many school friends are gray, including one of my best friends. I think it looks very distinguished on most people, especially on people I know well. You might be surprised the reaction to come. God’s grip. – Alan

Thanks Alan I need that encouragement!! That’s just it, I don’t want to be 75 or even 50 still messing with hair color so this seems logical..thanks for the sweet comment!!

I managed to see your post. You’re beautiful by the way (both inside and outside) I can’t see your roots at all in that pic! I may still post my grey hair post. It’s a little different than yours. You go sister! I have at least another year till I can cut the rest of my coloured hair completely off! I swear the day I ditched the dye, my hair decided to grow as slow as mollases. Never give up, never surrender! You’re awesome. ❤
