Happy Father’s Day Dad!

My girls have each put together a poem for their Daddy so I told them we’d surprise-share it with him today via the blog!!

But first a few thoughts…

Here’s to you Nathan! You are an amazing dad and I’m thankful we get to do this parenting thing together, couldn’t do it without you!! I love you so much! Love hearing you encourage our kids and teaching them your talents and interests! I love that you blare Taylor Swift for the girls when we’re riding in your teeny bopper truck and that you enjoy it yourself too.😉

I love that the kids ask a million and one times when you’ll be home from work before the day is even half over (they get that from me you know?!) We just love being with you!…I love watching these kids clobber you the minute you finally do walk through the door after work. I love that they adore you! I love that they witness you praying and reading God’s word. I love that you make sure they know how important it is to be involved with church. Mostly I just simply love seeing you raise our kids to know, love, and respect the ultimate Father above.

I love that you love as good as my dad loved me during the quick, short, sweet years I had with him…he would’ve been so proud to have you as the dad of his grandkids…here I am with the sting of hot tears at that thought…once again!

Gosh these kids are so darn blessed to have you!! We love you babe! -Alicia and kids

DEAR DADDY

Father’s Day is finally here,

It’s been another year!!

I love you so,

I hope you know!

You are the best,

I know at times I can be a pest,

But one day I’ll leave the nest…

So always know I love you so, Daddy!!

Love,

Paige

FATHER’S DAY

Father’s Day is bright Spring colors.

It tastes like snacks.

It smells like Dad’s coffee.

It looks like cards and gifts.

It makes me feel happy!

I love you Dad,

McKenzie

*Seriously just look at his sweet grin! This was last night and the kids had just finished singing loudly and wildly to T-Swizzle!…He puts up with so much from all of us and he does it with grace in our best interest! Love him bunches!!❤️

About For His Purpose~ My name is Alicia and I'm a thirty-something year old who loves Jesus. Only through God’s amazing grace and mercy I have been redeemed from past regret and shame. Reading His word has allowed me to look past Satan’s forceful lies, to see myself for who Christ says I am in Him. Through writing I have learned why I made the choices I made in my younger years and I now have a better understanding of why I desire to love God like crazy these days. Despite my daily failures, God remains faithful always. I am reassured of His unconditional love for me by every ink-drop spilled out on paper, each committed prayer as I cry out to Him, and deep understanding reflected through reading His word as truth. Yes keeping a blog will make me vulnerable to others’ opinions- there will be some who don’t understand, some who may criticize or judge, but on the other hand if just one piece expressed through my writing grabs someone’s attention and directs them to God, then pouring out my heart in a blog for the world to read is worth it. I choose to glorify Him alone through words streaming across a glowing screen. And it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t reveal the fact that I’m incredibly quirky; I’m my loving husband’s best friend, my vivacious kids’ craziest cheerleader and spiritual trainer (3 John 1:4). I love anything farmhouse and rustic style. I think cupping a warm coffee mug in the palm of my hands is more satisfying than the contents within. I share a common obsession with my husband for the mountains, but I would (without a doubt) settle for waves crashing against my legs at the Atlantic Ocean just as well, and I almost always have a Yorkie curled up on my lap while writing. *All photos are photographed by forhispurpose.blog and therefore may not be stored or photocopied in any manner.

  1. Beautiful and sweet. ❤ Not just the poems, and your own words, but your whole family! Love the group picture. Thanks for warming my heart this morning, Alicia.
